Biography
Associate Director for Clinical Engagement for the Brown-Lifespan Center for Digital Health, Innovation Officer with Brown University Health, and Assistant Professor (Research) of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University
Dr. Joshua Kemp is a clinical psychologist at the Pediatric Anxiety Research Center at Bradley Hospital and Brown University. As Associate Director for Clinical Engagement at the Center for Digital Health, he helps bridge research, technology, and clinical practice to improve mental health care delivery. In his role as Innovation Officer within the Office of Research Administration at Brown University Health, Dr. Kemp leads initiatives to translate research innovations into scalable, real-world solutions.
His research focuses on academic entrepreneurship and the development of technology-enhanced behavioral interventions—such as virtual reality and gamified digital tools—to expand access to evidence-based treatments for anxiety and related disorders. He has founded multiple ventures based on his research and is dedicated to bridging the gap between scientific discovery and clinical impact.
Dr. Kemp earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Wyoming and completed an NIMH-funded postdoctoral fellowship in child mental health at Brown University and Bradley Hospital.
