Jon Steingrimsson, PhD
Biography
Jon Steingrimsson is an Assistant Professor of Biostatistics. Jon obtained his PhD in statistics from Cornell University and prior to joining Brown University he was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Biostatistics at Johns Hopkins University.
Jon's methodological research can broadly be divided into two main components. The first is generalizing or transporting treatment effects or risk prediction models to a different population than was used for calculating the original estimators. The second component focuses on developing machine learning algorithms for censored data or identifying treatment effect heterogeneity. Jon's applied work is centered around oncology and HIV related research. He serves as a statistician on a couple of ECOG ACRIN imaging clinical trials and is involved in several HIV related collaborative research projects.
