Biography

Jun Tao, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology at Brown University and is an infectious diseases epidemiologist at the Miriam Hospital. Dr. Tao has a Bachelor degree in Preventive Medicine at Tianjin Medical University and completed her Master degree in Immunology at Chinese Center for Diseases Control and Prevention (China CDC). Subsequently, Dr. Tao went to Vanderbilt University for her Ph.D. education in Epidemiology. Her main research interest is HIV/AIDS prevention and intervention, and other sexually transmitted diseases. Dr. Tao also has a strong research interest in digital health and is currently pursuing funding on telehealth, social media interventions, and machine-learning to predict HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) discontinuation.
