Melissa Simon, Ph.D. is a Director of Business Development with Brown Technology Innovations. The mission of Brown Technology Innovations is to put Brown University’s technology first to drive commercial outcomes that benefit the University and society.  She is responsible for supporting intellectual property development and licensing, industry engagement, and start-up formation within biomedical engineering, neurotech and neuroscience, and digital health.

Prior to joining Brown, Melissa served as the Vice President of Life Sciences Business Development for Rhode Island Commerce, responsible for strategically growing Rhode Island’s life science ecosystem, and as a Senior Director with Insight Strategy Advisors (now Precision Advisors), a life science strategy consulting firm focused on pharmaceutical market access, pricing, and reimbursement. Melissa holds a BS in bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a PhD in biomedical engineering from Columbia University.
